10 Ways Your Small Business May Be Breaking Employment Laws| 4:15P.M. WORKSHOP

Even if one person works or provides services for you, you should have a basic understanding of California employment laws. Just because that person signs a contract saying they are your independent contractor doesn’t mean they are! This session will give you an idea of when you can call an individual an employee/contractor, provide a basic overview of employment laws, and will provide free handouts of required forms you should maintain as a small business.
•Who you can call in independent contractor/employee in California (even with one person working for you)
•Meal/rest. period/wage, and hour/travel time requirements in CA.
•Required forms (Form Time Sheet and New Hire Mandatory Paperwork free handouts)
•California sick time requirements.
